Well, well…*sigh* When will folks ever learn – didn’t T.I. just get out of jail?!

Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:18PM (August 1st). Deputies say they smelled marijuana.

When searching the vehicle cops found a controlled substance. Law enforcement sources tell us the controlled substance was not cocaine, but rather the class of controlled substance that triggered the arrest includes methamphetamines and ecstasy. The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. — real name Clifford Harris Jr. — is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges.

Law enforcement sources say both T.I. and Tameka were booked on felony possession of a controlled substance. We’re told T.I. and Tameka are in custody right now. Bail amount is $10,000.

UPDATE: T.I. and Tameka were released around 4:00AM.

As of today, August 2nd – Police officials have identified the controlled substance as ecstasy.

Former “American Idol” champ Fantasia starts at No. 2 with “Back To Me” (117,000). That marks her highest charting album yet. Her “Free Yourself” debut started and peaked at No. 8 in 2004 and her sophomore effort “Fantasia” topped out at No. 19 in 2006. The latter set entered the chart with 133,000 over a busy Christmas shopping week. The new album also debuts at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart — the singer’s first topper on that list. “Free Yourself” and “Fantasia” peaked at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. [SOURCE]

The ‘20th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards’ went down last night (August 30th) in Los Angeles, CA.

‘Leave U’ is the reported first single from Kandi Burruss’s (Xscape, Real Housewives of ATL) forthcoming second studio album – ‘B.L.O.G.’.

The song was produced by Jazze Pha, and was written entirely by Kandi.

The album – ‘B.L.O.G.’, is scheduled to be released on November 23rd.

I think this could be a huge hit on urban radio. I’m just curious to see how this all works out – not to many people from reality television have successfully made that jump. Yeah I know she was in Xscape, but really – who cares? Where they at now?!

Tennis superstar – Serena Williams covers the latest issue of ‘Hamptons’ magazine.

Williams tells the magazine that while she’s enormously happy to have her tennis success, she’s also discovering how much she enjoys giving back.

I always said winning all those Grand Slams was a dream, but when I opened my school in Kenya, that was the best feeling in the world because I was helping people who had almost nothing…one of the schools contains special services for children who are hearing impaired – we gave them computers donated by Hewlett-Packard, and one of the kids came up to me crying and said, ‘Now I can finally tell everyone what’s on my mind,’” Williams remembers. “I feel like my job, more than anything, is to be a good Christian…I’ve been known to make mistakes and because I do live in the public eye, it can be hard, but I’m living my life as best I can.
